A report to be published tomorrow by Legal Business magazine will show that the leading 100 law firms are sharing revenues of £9.11 billion and profits of £2.7 billion.

The Independent says that in response to concern that lawyers are putting profits before ethics, the Law Society is planning to impose tough new professional conduct rules on the industry.
