David Blunkett will unveil new powers to tackle animal rights extremists this week.

The home secretary will clamp down on protests outside people's homes and provide further protection against harassment for companies.

Yesterday the chief executive of pharmaceutical giant Glaxo, Jean Paul Garnier, said the activities of protesters were driving investment away from Britain.
