Orangemen face calls for peaceful march

Northern Ireland secretary Paul Murphy has called for today's Orange Order parades to be "peaceful and dignified".

His comments came after unionist politicians called on him to overrule a restriction placed on the march by the Parades Commission.

"I know how much hard work has gone into ensuring a quiet and peaceful summer," said the minister.

"I would urge all political and community representatives to redouble their efforts in the coming days of heightened tension."
