Labour attempts to renew Democrat links

A Labour minister and one of Tony Blair's top advisers are in Boston this week attempting to reforge links with the Democrats.

Cabinet Office minister Douglas Alexander, who is also Labour's general election coordinator, and Downing Street special adviser Pat McFadden are in town to study lessons for Labour's campaign next year.

Developments in internet campaigning and fundraising, in which US parties are more experienced, are reported to be high on their list.
