Nearly 24,000 Romanians and Bulgarians face being expelled from Britain after two critical reports yesterday found that thousands had arrived as part of immigration rackets.

Amid Home Office embarrassment David Blunkett told MPs that government measures to deal with visa scams in Sofia and Bucharest had been "insufficiently robust".
