The worst police force in the country is Cleveland, according to a new league table.

Humberside, Cambridgeshire and Nottingham are only marginally better.

The league table was compiled by the Telegraph from figures published by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary.

The best force, according to the study, is Lancashire.
