Five further alleged cases of electoral fraud were being investigated by police in West Yorkshire yesterday as the inquest into the all-postal voting trials last week continues.

Some candidates have argued that the polls did not meet required standards of secrecy, but North West returning officer Sir Howard Bernstein said the scale of allegations had not changed and the number of cases raised could not have affected the results.
