Asylum seekers to be forced to work
Failed asylum seekers who cannot return home will have to carry out unpaid community work to receive benefits, David Blunkett has announced.
Those who win the right to stay will also be barred from moving to London or the South East.
The new measures come in the form of amendments to the Asylum Bill currently going through parliament.
The changes mean the legislation will have to be resubmitted to the Lords.
