Labour targets working mothers

Labour launched a bid for the votes of working women with families yesterday as ministers claimed that £2.7 billion-worth of government policies have transformed family life in Britain.

"Labour is working to support more parents to balance their work and family life," industry secretary and minister for women Patricia Hewitt told a press conference.
