Mobile firm boss to lead new tax body
Outgoing boss of mobile phone company mmO2 David Varney has been appointed chairman of the newly merged Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise.
The Times points out that mm02 has not paid a penny of corporation tax since its 2001 demerger from BT.
