Tagging rules to be relaxed

The Times reports that the Home Office is considering a relaxation of the rules of the early release scheme.

Under the proposals, prisoners serving more than four years could be considered for release with electronic tagging if prison authorities believe they will comply with the rules of their curfew, are unlikely to reoffend and are not a risk to the public.
