The Liberal Democrats have criticised the Inland Revenue for failing to keep detailed information about the £14 billion of uncollected taxes that a public watchdog identified in March.

Lord Oakeshott of Seagrove Bay, the Lib Dem Treasury spokesman, accused the Revenue of "gross incompetence".
