Labour 'to back votes at 16'

The Labour Party is set to back moves to lower the voting age from 18 to 16, the Independent reports.

Labour chiefs will put the move to this autumn's party conference and expect it to be included in the next general election manifesto.

Last month the Electoral Commission rejected the move, but Labour said it came too late to prevent the change being discussed during its policy making process.
