The prime minister has called on the drinks industry to do more to help crack down on binge drinking.

Tony Blair told an audience of industry leaders yesterday that: "As a society, we have to make sure that this form of what we often call binge drinking doesn't become a new sort of British disease."

Ministers want responsible trading and help with funding police community support officers to tackle anti-social behaviour.
