The majority of NHS nurses cannot see any evidence of increased staffing at work, according to a survey released yesterday.

The poll of nurses found that only 30 per cent believed that the number of permanent nursing staff had increased over the past four years at their own hospital or health centre.

The poll results were released by the Royal College of Nursing at the start of its annual congress in Harrogate.
