Doubts over new race code
A new code of practice on race relations in the workplace has been criticised as "unworkable".
Published by the Commission for Racial Equality today, drafts of the new document ran to 99 pages, rather than the 14 pages used for the current version.
Angela Gill of law firm Morrison and Foerster said it "stepped over the boundary from being a very useful tool... to becoming a virtually unworkable morass".
CBI chief Digby Jones said it was "very useful" but would need to be "distilled" for small businesses.
