RMT set to strike
RMT workers are likely to vote for industrial action over pensions and pay, as Network Rail bosses look forward to hefty bonuses.
A vote to strike is expected on Thursday from 7,000 rail workers after they rejected a three per cent pay offer and opposed Network Rail plans to end final salary pensions for new employees.
The Telegraph reports that five directors of Network Rail stand to gain up to £85,000 each, despite failing to meet punctuality targets.
The bonuses are described as incentive payments.
The next Bank Holiday, at the end of this month, could see the first walkout by workers.
