The Ministry of Defence is set to announce that it is ready to shut down four RAF bases. RAF Boulmer, RAF Neatishead, RAF Sealand and RAF Stafford are set for the the axe, it is reported today.

The move will cost 2,000 jobs and comes as part of a drive to save £1 billion per year - with further closures and sell-offs expected.
