Dyke joins attack on BBC governors
Former BBC director general Greg Dyke used last night's Bafta television awards to criticise the governors who accepted his resignation.
He voiced his agreement with comments made by playwright Paul Abbott, who claimed that the board of governors were "the least qualified people in the industry".
Speaking after a standing ovation from members of the audience, Dyke said: "I would like to say thank you very much to Paul Abbott for those few kind words said about me - and in particular those few words he said about the governors, because I tend to agree."
