The Conservatives are considering enlisting employers to help solve the university funding crisis.

While emphasising that no decisions have been taken, shadow education secretary Tim Yeo said that the Conservatives are looking at "ways in which it might be possible to get employers to make a contribution".

Businesses were "one of the main beneficiaries of good quality higher education", he said.
