Corporation quizzed on digital spend
BBC executives came under fire from the Commons media select committee yesterday over spending £278 million of public money on digital broadcasting. Digital spending accounts for 13 per cent of the licence fee but fewer than one in 50 watch the channels. Corporation chiefs were also criticised for paying themselves £1.2 million in bonuses.
