Prisons minister, Beverley Malone, will today accuse leaders of the Prison Officers' Association of failing to represent the views of their members on a planned six per cent pay rise.

"It is difficult for me to see how some of you have perceived this as an injustice and presented it to your members as such, when in fact you could - and should - have depicted it as a positive vindication for agreeing to a more proactive industrial relations procedural agreement," she will say.
