Human Rights court to rule against Blunkett?

David Blunkett is today set to lose his right to keep killers in jail, reports the Independent.

The move follows a legal challenge by a convicted murderer in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, claiming that the final decision on a prisoner's sentence should be made by a judicial body and not a politician.

More than 1300 convicted murderers will have the right to have their sentences reviewed should the European Court rule against the government.
