The chairman of the Public Administration Committee, Tony Wright, has persuaded the Electoral Commission to tackle "alphabetical discrimination" on election ballot papers.

The Cannock Chase MP, whose majority is 10,704, wants candidate names to be listed in random order to stop discrimination "against candidates like me always on the bottom of the list".
