No 'right' to assisted suicide rules European court

Diane Pretty, a terminally ill woman, has lost her legal battle for the "right" to an assisted suicide.

The European Court of Human Rights ruled that the UK government had not breached human rights laws with a refusal to give Pretty's husband immunity if he assisted her death.

Another woman, "Miss B", who was given leave by the UK courts to refuse medical treatment died yesterday.
