Challenge to MPs' legal immunity
A woman who was condemned in the Commons chamber by former Conservative MP Michael Stern today begins an historic legal attempt to challenge the law of parliamentary privilege.
The woman, referred to as "A", says she had to move house and change her children's schools after the former MP's comments.
She is challenging the long-standing tradition of parliamentary privilege, whereby MPs cannot be sued for anything said in the House, in the European Court of Human rights.
