Steel tycoon donor row dismissed by PM
Tony Blair has dismissed the row over his support for a deal between the Romanian government and an Indian tycoon who donated £125,000 to the Labour Party.
His official spokesman said: "There should be nothing surprising in Mr Blair supporting a British company - a UK registered company - winning a contract in Romania. What is important is that the prime minister uses whatever influence he has to encourage markets for British business."
