BBC executive accused in lobby row

A BBC executive has been accused of using a Commons security pass - intended to give political journalists unfettered access to politicians - to talk to politicians during the passage of the Office of Communications Bill last week.

Michael Hastings, the head of the BBC's political and parliamentary affairs, was seen in one of the inner lobbies talking to MPs while their colleagues were discussing a bill which will create a powerful regulation body to oversee the television, radio and telecommunications industries.
