SAS in dispute with government

The SAS and the government are locked in a row over the award of gallantry medals to soldiers who fought in Afghanistan.

The elite force is opposed to moves by the government to name the recipients, claiming it would be "hypocritical" after the Ministry of Defence had been involved in legal moves to prevent the publication of memoirs by former members of the regiment.
