A team of UK officials is heading to Cuba to interrogate al Qaeda suspects claiming British citizenship.

The group will interview the suspects over the weekend, reporting back to ministers in London next week.

The team, expected to include intelligence officials, will attempt to ascertain the identity of individuals.

The visit coincides with an inspection of the prisoners' conditions by the Red Cross.
