Cambridge elites still exist

Figures published by Cambridge University refuted claims by independent school headteachers that their students were being discriminated against.

The statistics show that 47 per cent of students admitted to the university this year were fee-paying, despite only 29 per cent of those achieving three A grades at A-level coming from that sector. A pupil from an independent school was more likely to be accepted to Cambridge than one from a state school.
