Fresh confusion over national stadium

The future of Wembley stadium took a further farcical twist yesterday when the FA announced that the north London site was its "preferred option" only to find that ministers wanted a further four-month review before the project was finally given the go ahead.

Speaking in the Commons, Tessa Jowell said it was still possible that the national stadium could go elsewhere, or may not even be built at all.
