The US has brought the first indictment against a suspect alleged to be involved in the terror attacks of September 11.

Zacarias Moussaoui, a Moroccan French national and a former student in the UK will be arraigned on January 2 in a Virginia court, facing the death penalty on four of six terror charges. Moussaoui has spent most of the last nine years based in Brixton, south London and was picked up on a passport violation in Minnesota before the September 11 attacks.
