Work minister Ian McCartney was accused of hypocrisy by the Public and Commercial Services union yesterday as a strike among benefit office workers loomed.

McCartney has a security screened reception at his constituency office in Makerfield while thousands of similar protective measures are to be removed from benefit offices, leading to a national ballot for strike action throughout December.
