The future of rail regulator Tom Winsor was looking increasingly uncertain yesterday after Tony Blair again gave his backing to transport secretary Stephen Byers. The prime minister's official spokesman said Winsor's job was now under review as "there are valid questions about the future of the regulator which need to be answered".
