Diane Pretty, the woman who applied to the High Court for the right to die, has lost her case.

Judges told Pretty, who is suffering from motor neurone disease, that she could not apply for her husband to assist her in any attempt to end her suffering.

Through her husband, she told journalists on leaving the High Court that she will be making an appeal to the House of Lords.
