John Bercow, the new shadow chief secretary to the Treasury yesterday called for a purge of Tory members who belong to the far-right Monday club which backs the voluntary repatriation of immigrants and capital punishment.

Bercow told the Freedom Today magazine that it would be "morally right and politically cathartic" to expel those Tory members who belong to the club.
