Tories challenged over portrayal of women
William Hague and Michael Portillo were yesterday accused of belittling women by portraying them as either lower earners than their husbands or mothers without jobs.
Hague said that in it's policy document on tax for married couples, his party was "recognising the facts of what happens in most families".
