Birmingham seeks legalisation of prostitution

Birmingham City Council is set to ask the government to change the law to allow the creation of "zones of tolerance" for prostitution.

Draft proposals seek to decriminalise soliciting unless it causes nuisance, alarm or distress in the hope that prostitution can be moved away form residential areas of Birmingham to less-populated industrial areas.
