Swirling orchestral strings and a melody that sounds familiar will play as the Conservatives' election campaign theme tune.

"Heartlands" was unveiled on Monday as the tune the Tories hope will set voters toes tapping all the way to the ballot box.

Written by Mike Batt - the composer of the Wombles theme - and performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, William Hague said that the music "embodies the musical traditions of our United Kingdom, and it conveys a very Conservative sense of pride in our country".
