The Liberal Democrats will push the Conservatives into third place in the coming election triggering a realignment in British politics predicts Charles Kennedy.

The leader of the Liberal Democrats told ePolitix that: "The potential is certainly there for a significant realignment of British politics, given a public which has a genuine sense of disappointment about quite a number of aspects of the government...there is also a sense of incredulity at William Hague's party." Kennedy also called for senior pro-European Conservatives to join their opposition rivals in a joint cabinet committee.
