Tory 'scare' ad blames Labour for rapes
The Conservatives have been accused of scaremongering and negative campaigning with a TV advert blaming Labour for two rapes.
The party political broadcast focusing on Labour's crime record, blamed the government for a string of crimes committed by criminals released under a Home Office home detention curfew scheme. The advert with its dark imagery and menacing music has prompted comparison with the Republicans notorious 1988 ad featuring Massachusetts murderer and rapist, Willie Horton.
