The row over Virgin Trains' fares increase is set to be reignited with the latest train performance figures showing that half its services do not run on time.

Railtrack is reported to have told the train operating companies that there is "little chance" of meeting the May 21 deadline for getting services back to pre-Hatfield levels. They say that it might be another 12 months before that level is achieved.
