Dr George Carey, the Archbishop of Canterbury, yesterday said that he had learned from "new age" movements, despite his original hostility to their ideas.

Delivering a lecture to mark the tenth anniversary of his appointment, Carey said that the church had a lot to learn from new age spirituality. The Telegraph reports that there are no signs that the archbishop "has taken to using crystals, reflexology or aromatherapy".
