The NUT has condemned Channel 4's new drama "Teachers" for portraying teachers as foul-mouthed and ill-behaved.

The opening episode of the series set in a Bristol comprehensive shows teachers engaging in scenes of casual sex, swearing and smoking in the toilets.

"This is a totally unrealistic portrayal of school life," said NUT general secretary, Doug McAvoy.
