The Houses of Parliament have not proved a successful tourist attraction with a tour trial last summer below the "most pessimistic" targets.

The operating deficit of the scheme was £209, 611, with a bill for the Commons of £125,767, due to a lack of ticket sales and low spending on merchandise.
