Cook gives hint on son of star wars
Robin Cook risked the wrath of the left on Wednesday when he said that the US national missile defence system, dubbed the "son of star wars", could deliver a "net gain".
He also gave a strong hint that the UK government may be prepared to let the US upgrade a Yorkshire radar station as part of the programme.
Cook's comments came during a visit to Washington where he met with Colin Powell, the US secretary of state, and other senior White House officials.
