The prime minister, Tony Blair, hosts a Chequers summit this morning, aimed at reducing the risk of rifts with business in the coming election campaign. Gordon Brown and Stephen Byers are attending so that they can meet and greet key business leaders, including BT chairman, Sir Iain Vallance, Unilever chairman, Niall Fitzgerald and Lord Hollick, chief executive United Business Media.
