Boost for car industry
Car manufacturing in the UK received a boost yesterday when Vauxhall confirmed that its new Vectra model will be built in Merseyside, safeguarding more than 1200 jobs.
Separately, Ford announced a £240 million expansion of its engine plant in Bridgend, creating 600 jobs.
