The dome is again at the centre of controversy after it was alleged that Camelot, the lottery operator, was told that its dome sponsorship could help it to retain its operating licence.

In a separate move, the prime minister summoned John Prescott and Lord Falconer yesterday to a meeting where he pushed them to complete the dome deal with the Legacy consortium. Falconer meets with Legacy today in a bid to press ahead with the deal.
